Italian Sausage Lasagna
Ingredients :
4 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
2 Italian sausage links
1 minced garlic clove
Pinch of black pepper
Pinch of salt
Pinch of dried basil leaves
Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
1 onion chopped
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes (do not drain the tomatoes)
cup of tomato paste
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup of Ricotta cheese
1 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
3/4 cup Mozzarella cheese (grated)
1 Tbsp Parmesan cheese (grated)
2 Tbsp of olive oil

Remove the casings from the sausage and crumble sausage into a medium size pan. Put olive oil in, then garlic and onion and cook until meat gets brown. Drain the meat from fat. Add the tomatoes from the can, tomato paste, sugar and all the other seasonings. Cook all of the ingredients for 30 minutes over medium heat.


Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for another 20 minutes. Mix ricotta cheese, egg and parsley. Take a loaf dish spray it with cooking spray and spread it with the mixture you just prepared. Put the noodles in the dish (trim it if necessary. Make three layers of sauce, noodles, sauce, noodles. Put some ricotta mixture and mozzarella cheese on top.


Cover it with aluminum foil and bake it for 375 degrees F until brown. (Usually takes 30-45 minutes). Take off the foil and sprinkle it with Parmesan cheese. Allow 20 minutes to cool off before cutting.
